I am so very proud of this particular pastry because my dad invented it back in our Grassi Bakery in Italy. My family all worked very hard in learning the making process of this delicious and eye catching slice of heaven. It gets its name from the little cardinal birds that are just so lovely and beautiful. It's made of a delicious Pastry Puff filled with mouthwatering Italian Custard and topped with more Pastry Puff dipped in Amaretto Syrup. Yum!
